MARKETPLACE SAFETY

Buy and sell with your eyes open.

VW Van Hub connects people; you are still responsible for checking the vehicle, seller and payment before a transaction.

Before viewing a van

  • Be cautious if the price is far below comparable vehicles.
  • Ask for the registration and check MOT history through the official GOV.UK service.
  • Confirm the seller has the right to sell and that names/details make sense.
  • Do not rely only on screenshots or forwarded documents.

At the viewing

  • View the van at a sensible location and preferably in daylight.
  • Check the VIN/chassis number against the paperwork.
  • For expensive vans, consider an independent inspection or specialist assessment.
  • Test all camper conversion systems you are relying on: electrics, water, roof, heating and gas documentation where relevant.

Payments and deposits

  • Do not send money because somebody creates artificial urgency.
  • Use a payment method you understand and keep a clear written record.
  • Be especially cautious if account names do not match the person or business you are dealing with.
Important: VW Van Hub does not hold buyer funds, guarantee vehicles or verify every statement in a third-party listing. Report suspicious content through the contact page.
